The Sister at the Sacred Heart Home in Ixopo celebrated their 90th Jubilee of the founding of the sisters convent in Ixopo.
Theme: Where God is, there is hope.
It was a beautiful sunny day. Guest started arriving at 9.00 in the morning and were greeted with tea and cake. There was time for old friends to meet, share stories and experiences before the celebration of High Mass.
Father Shabalala the new provincial of the Mariannhill Fathers was the main celebrant, Father Henry Rattering CMM gave a challenging sermon using the words of Abbot Francis Pfanner (the founder of the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood’s).
We were admonished to live in the protection of the Sacred Heart, or in modern language to be in the love of God, not only in word but in actions.
During the mass, all who had live in, taken part in the liturgical celebrations, past, present and to come were specially remembered and blessing were called down upon them.
The celebration was followed by a relaxed family meal in the court yard. Afterwards all participants were then invited to a power point on the history, and activities of the sisters of the Sacred heart home.
After pleasurable tea, after which our Guests departed.
In the evening a tired bur happy community sat together to reminisce about the day and the hope in the future.
